Somewhere

I hold your heart
yet you are still too far away
cruel twists of fate
kept us apart.
But despite the distance
our souls kept fighting
to reach out and celebrate
each other's half.
I want to be happy
I want to be selfish
and break this cage that
keeps me away from you.
I can't wait for sleep
to meet you there
in our secret place ---
just in between anywhere
and nowhere.
Even time itself 
cannot make us forget.

Don't fret
many possibilities still abound.
There could yet be a place 
waiting for us somewhere
unbound by the rules
of our present hapless circumstance.
