as night comes
i feel scared
not knowing how
to tell you "no"
it hurts in ways
i can't comprehend
but the feeling
is never meant for you
as the past crawls in
i cannot stop
these awful thoughts
that i am trapped
as i get sucked in
that threatening grip
of my tormented past
